Top Steps to Successful Sales

Global B2B buy sell website: http://www.bytrade.com

Being a successful salesperson does not happen by accident or blind luck. Success is the result of diligent effort applied to a structured system with commitment and passion. These seven steps are designed to help develop a system in a matter of minutes. Building on success to achieve your dreams is determined by how passionately committed you are to achieving the dreams of your customers. The first step is as easy as listening to them.

Goals

Without clearly defined goals, measured over a specific time frame, you will achieve very little. When setting your goals consider your income, lifestyle and requirements.

First aim to improve your last years’ income by a specific amount, or, if you are new to sales, aim to achieve as close to the top sales person in your team as you can.

Prospecting

The level of success achieved by salespeople will always be determined by the number of customers self generated, that is other than floor traffic or telephone enquiries generated by your advertising.

Put a system in place to regularly find new customers from referrals, past customers etc. Build up your database of loyal customers that you can sell time after time.

Qualifying

Qualifying is the factor, which has the greatest impact on the management of your time. You have to become skilled in sorting prospects. The greatest stress in your career will come from working with unqualified prospects, be it someone who refuses to buy at a fantastic price or someone who is not ready, willing and able to buy at all.

The Sales Process

The key to a successful sale is the ability to build rapport and trust with each customer. Meet, greet and build rapport, settle them on a model, garment or product to demonstrate. All the time check by asking trial closing questions, then ask for their business.
Make some notes for personal reference that pertain to your specific product or service for each of the seven steps. Put it in your own words. Know your process and listen intensely to your customers. Know where your customers are within the seven step process. Take care of your customers and continue your conversations after every sale to repeat the cycle and nurture your pipeline.

Top tips to good customer service

Global B2B buy sell website: http://www.bytrade.com

In simple terms it is vital for small and large businesses to have in place proper guidelines for staff members to follow so that a customer leaves the place of business satisfied with a feeling he has been provided with excellent service and a desire to return or continue doing business with your firm.
In many cases a customer’s first experience with a business is through telephone contact. The following are a few telephone customer service tips that will assist staff at first point of contact.

1. Communication.

Ensure employees are kept up to date on what the goals of the business are and well informed as to its financial position. Inform staff members the reason why any changes need to be made and how staff can contribute to those plans. Encourage staff to remain focused on providing good customer service

2. Resources.

Streamline systems and processes so that employees output and time are being used efficiently. Ensure essential resources are used productively to avoid waste and that customers are always provided with good customer service

3. Health and Safety.

Ensure your workplace has an effective workplace Health and Safety Policy. This will help identify employees who may have stress symptoms and provide managers or affected staff members with an intervention and education plan on how to cope with any workplace health issue.

4. Managing Staff Insecurity.

In situations where redundancies may occur try to keep affected staff informed and provide options. For example, look for those employees who may have transferable skills and whether they can be transferred to another department.

5. Positive outlook.

As a manager and employer it’s important to remain focused and positive in order to keep team spirit and morale high during difficult times. This is one of the best good customer service tips because setting an example for staff by going the extra mile for a customer will encourage employees to do the same, having the affect of helping your business and ultimately bottom line profits.

6. Targets.

Focus on delivering good customer service and where necessary improving any poor customer service habits that may have crept in by ensuring staff training programs are up to date and relevant to the current market. Performance expectations should be realistic. Remember the golden rule is if you are loyal and supportive of your staff they will support you.

POSITIVE HUMOR

Recognize when to add humor to your interactions with people. There is a difference between negative humor and positive humor. Examples of negative humor would be sarcasm or making racist or cultural jokes. Never make a joke and laugh at others, this is a very negative form of humor. Adding positive humor will build customer relations and help to relieve tension in the atmosphere. Help yourself to develop your humor sphere of vision. There are many humorous sentences on the Internet or in publications, collect some of them to use in future conversations. Read comics in the paper or on the Internet, this will expand your humor sphere. Learn to laugh instead of getting mad, laughing is truly contagious and clients love to be able to smile or laugh.

4 Kinds of Exercise That Help Cancer Patients

Global B2B buy sell website: http://www.bytrade.com

Adults should engage in at least 2.5 hours of moderate physical activity a week and in muscle-strengthening workouts two days of the week, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Those recommendations are the same for cancer patients, but the way they go about exercising may be different, depending on the toll that the disease and treatment has taken on their bodies, said Josie Gardiner, a personal trainer who co-authored "The Breast Cancer Survivor's Fitness Plan" (McGraw Hill, 2006).

Chemotherapy and radiation treatments are cumulative — meaning the more treatments you have, the more fatigue you will feel, said Gardiner, who has worked with many cancer patients and survivors. She often tells her clients to rate their fatigue on a scale of 0 (no fatigue) to 4 (totally exhausted) before deciding whether to undergo strenuous physical exercise.

"You have to listen to your body," Gardiner told MyHealthNewsDaily. "If you're totally fatigued, then give yourself permission to take a day off. But if you feel like you're only slightly or moderately fatigued, anything you do is better than nothing."

And just like exercise for people without cancer, the four areas of fitness — aerobic exercise, strength training, balance and stretching — are important, she said.

MyHealthNewsDaily takes a look at those four areas to see how each pertains to cancer patients.

Aerobics

Aerobic exercise gets the heart rate up and includes exercises like walking, bicycling and running. By alternating cardiovascular exercise with strength exercises, a person can increase lean muscle mass, decrease fat and increase the body's metabolism, Gardiner said.

"It's one of the best things to maintain body weight, because you're burning calories," Gardiner said.

Being overweight is a risk factor for cancer, Gardiner said, and maintaining a healthy weight can reduce the risk of cancer developing or recurring.

Physical activity can reduce the risk of breast cancer, for example, by 20 to 80 percent, the risk of endometrial cancer by 20 to 40 percent and the risk of colon cancer by 30 to 40 percent, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Aerobic excercise also can help people feel better while going through cancer treatments, and being fit can improve one’s recovery after an operation, Gardiner said. However, a cancer patient may not have enough energy to do 30 minutes of moderate or vigorous exercise a day. If so, the patient could do 10 minutes of exercise three times a day to get the same effect, Gardiner said.

Walking exercises are generally safe right after a person has undergone cancer treatment, she said.

Strength

Strength training improves muscle tone and fights muscle loss that can occur with aging, Gardiner said. It can be done with dumbbells, barbells and weight machines.

But bone density and muscle for an average person are different from those of a cancer patient. Chemotherapy can cause women to lose as much bone density in a year as the average woman would lose in a decade, Gardiner said.

"That is a huge reason why strength training is so important: As muscles become more dense, then they're going to put more pressure on the bone," Gardiner said. "Trying to maintain bone density through strength training and weight-bearing exercises like walking will help you maintain bone density."

Weight training won't increase bone density, but it will at least help to maintain it, she said.
Cancer patients should consult their doctor before undergoing a weight training regimen, Gardiner said.

Balance

A good sense of balance is vital for a workout free of slips or tumbles, Gardiner said.
For some cancer patients, drugs can impair balance. And for those on chemotherapy with decreased bone mass, it takes only one fall to break a bone.

Therefore cancer patients and survivors should make sure balance exercises are a regular part of their fitness routine. Simple exercises such as walking a narrow path (putting one foot in front of the other, as if walking a tightrope) or heel raises (standing in place and raising each heel up and down) can improve balance, Gardiner said.

Some other balance exercises are single-leg stands, in which a person spends 60 seconds standing on one leg, and grapevines, which involve stepping sideways and putting one foot in front, and then in back, of the other, she said.

Balance exercises are generally safe to do even right after cancer treatment, Gardiner said.

Stretching

For some cancers that require surgery, people may feel particular weakness in certain parts of their bodies, Gardiner said. For example, breast cancer survivors who have undergone mastectomies may feel weakness where the rotator cuff may be, at their shoulder girdles, she said.

"There are exercises specifically to strengthen the shoulder," Gardiner said. Women who had breast cancer may want to do an exercise in which they face a wall and “walk” their arms up the wall to increase their range of motion.

"But they only want to go to the point of tightness, not pain," Gardiner said. "Doing these stretching exercises for the areas that they've had surgery" could help them regain mobility in those areas.

However, cancer patients should consult with their doctors before undergoing stretching exercises, Gardiner said.

Pass it on: Exercise is a necessity for cancer patients and survivors, but their condition poses some unique challenges.

How to avoid online affiliate marketing scams

read more : online business ,Affiliate marketing ,suppliers, wholesale, buyer, seller ,business

Affiliate marketing is one of the online marketing strategies where the revenue is shared by a website owner and on online merchant. While the owner of the website places the advertisements on his websites for helping the promotion of the products of the merchants or places links that take the visitors directly to the website of the merchant. There are three ways by which affiliate marketing can be carried out, namely pay per click, pay per sale and pay per lead. These are considered one of the prolific strategies of online marketing but they need to be done in an out-of-the-box method. While carrying out an affiliate marketing strategy, there are also possibilities of meeting certain scams that can lead to losses big or small. So it is upto the affiliate marketer to keep things normal and away from troubles. Here are a few methods that can help you keep away from such marketing hassles

In this article we will teach you some of the signs to look for and tell you how to spot a scam.

When you join an affiliate marketing scheme, you are either going to sell a product or a service. With products, you usually have a choice and range to sell. How you decide to do this is largely up to you. You could also sell a service. Web page designs as well as increasing sales and internet traffic are all examples of services offered by affiliate marketing programs.

How many times have you seen an ad on the internet promising huge earnings? Things like “Earn 1000$ a day” or Join our program now and become a millionaire. If your look closely at these ads they are not actually selling anything. Any company that is just selling the opportunity to make money is likely a scam. True, some affiliate marketing companies will have attention grabbing headlines like the ones mentioned above. However, if you go on to read the ad and information, there will likely be a detailed description of what they company sells. They will also have a disclaimer and terms and conditions listed.

These companies that offer, the opportunity to make money are likely pyramid schemes. The only people paying money in are the ones actually joining. There is no income being created, just money being passed from person to person. Not only are these scams and you’ll lose what you invested, they are also illegal and you can face prosecution.

Another thing to watch out for is no free participation. If you have to pay to join then you may have stumbled upon a scam or what is known as a multilevel marketing program. Multi-level marketing programs are completely legal and some people make good livings out of them. However, if you’re not successful you may end up purchasing a bunch of products that you cannot sell.

True affiliate programs are free. That is part of their attraction. There are no costs to you and they should also be risk free. Any Affiliate marketing programs that demands your money is not an affiliate program. You should ask yourself why they are misrepresenting themselves this way if they are legitimate.

Many of us dream of being our own bosses. We would love to be able to take control of our lives and careers. The attraction of answering only to you combined with setting your own working hours and committing what you choose bring loads of people into the affiliate marketing schemes. Affiliate marketing can be an excellent way for a highly motivated, creative person to make an excellent living. There are some wonderful programs out there just waiting to be joined. However, for every great program there is likely one that is fraudulent. Con artists operate in many areas and unfortunate affiliate marketing is not immune.

Before joining, check to see what the company is selling. If they are not selling goods or services then they are likely an illegal pyramid scheme. If they require your own money to get started then they are what are known as a multi level marketing program. Affiliate marketing can be a great opportunity but you need to do your homework.

Remember affiliate marketing scams can always be avoided by you. Do not allow yourself to impulse buy this can always lead to thinking that you got scammed. Always do your research, do not just dive in to the latest affiliate program or product. And if you don't have the money for this latest affiliate product do yourself a favor and don't buy it. Write it down and buy it later. Follow these steps and you are well on you way to avoid affiliate marketing scams on-line.

Political risks in international trade

read more : international trade ,Political risks ,import ,export , manufacturers ,marketplace

Political risks are not taken lightly in international trade. Investors carefully study potential international trade partners, and the political climate under which they do business. Political stability as found in North America and Europe is not as common in all parts of the world.

When assessing political stability in the host country, a firm should focus on the legitimacy of the state authority and the exercise of political power. For example, if the government of the host country is corrupted to a level that permeates the system of authority, it may impose trade decrees aiming to achieve price control and foreign exchange control. As far as economic policies are concerned, a corrupted government would focus on allowing a higher degree of governmental intervention in the economy of the host country, thus increasing the political risk undertaken by the firm.

Another implication of political risk is that being locally residual and unrelated to global economic conditions it eliminates the possibility of global intervention. Ideally, the firm’s cash flows should be invested in different host countries. Yet, in the absence of global intervention, the firm's cash flows do not allow risk diversification. Within this context, the relationship between low economic growth and high political risk is substantial for effective political risk management.

In order to manage political incidents, a firm should adjust its operations and consider own bargaining power, but also the bargaining power of the host country. Factors such as product uniqueness, technological advancement, the firm’s size and operational growth are substantial for performing profitable international operations. On the other hand, the bargaining power of the host country is equally important in terms of the size of the market, its wealth, the abundance in its raw materials and the level of governmental intervention.

Another way to manage political risk is to distinguish between developments that may cause true risk in the firm’s value from simply dramatic political events. A dramatic political event may cause a certain risk to the firms’ operations, but a change in a juridical policy may affect heavily the firm's operations. Therefore, the decision to discontinue or not the firm’s operations or to negotiate on a settlement should be based on methodically evaluated facts, taking into consideration the cost factor as well.

Despite the political risks of international trade, healthy profits for stockholders always seem to offset the risk. Hopefully, one day corporate leaders will respond to the ethical questions of balancing profits with unemployed local citizens. If economic hardship destroys local markets, there will no longer be any profits anyway.

Taking Care of a 'Hairy' Situation

Global B2B buy sell website: http://www.bytrade.com

By Jenny Block

It's funny how something so natural and universal can lead to so much discussion and opinion: why we have it; what we should do with it; why we even care -- all seem to be topics of discussion. The thing is, it’s not exactly appropriate dinner conversation.

Over the years, its style has certainly changed -- in the 1970s, it was cool for a woman to have ‘unkempt’ hair down there; today, she would never go on a date without waxing first (or at least shaving). These days, even men are known to trim things up in that area.

It can be hard to discuss even with your partner, let alone friends or family. Still the questions remain. So, here’s a little insight when it comes to five of the most commonly asked questions regarding pubic hair.

1. Why do we have it?
Even the experts can’t agree on this one. Warmth? Maybe. But then it would make sense for it to be on the shaft of the penis. To trap pheromones? Perhaps. But even without it, the pheromones still manage to do their job. To keep germs out? Could be. But then it should probably be present at the tip of the penis too. Evolution is a funny thing. Maybe we did need it at one time. But these days, no one has proved it to be a necessity.

2. Why do some choose to leave it be?
Some people prefer the natural look and feel, and there’s not a thing wrong with that. It’s certainly easier, of course, as it doesn’t require the maintenance and care that trimming, shaving and waxing do. Folks who prefer this look and feel often say that anything else seems fake -- or even bizarre. Some people take particular issue with the complete removal of the hair, as it leaves the person looking, to their mind, pre-pubescent. Followers also often say that the natural look adds to a natural musk of sorts that can develop when the hair is there, something that people either love or hate. But, the truth of the matter is, it’s all about personal preference.

3. Why do others choose to trim, shave or wax it?
One reason to trim, shave or wax some or all of the hair is purely for aesthetic reasons. There are men and women alike who simply prefer a manicured look. Some argue that this preference is based on pornography, which often portrays this look. But that’s really a question of whether life imitates art or art imitates life, you know? But, regardless of the impetus, tending the hedges has simply become part of our culture, just as it is not a part of other cultures throughout the world.

Of course, looks are not the only reason the bare or nearly bare look has garnered popularity. It’s also because it allows direct access to one’s naughty bits both for solo and partner play. A tongue, a touch, or a toy on bare skin creates a much different -- and many argue far better -- sensation than one that results when the natural look is sported. Some women say they really enjoy how it feels during the day to be bare, saying it makes them feel sexier and experience more sensation that inspires a desire for even more sensation when they get home. (If you get my drift).

Some also suggest that a man’s “package” appears larger when it is free of hair…

4. How do I tell my partner I'd like him or her to try a new ‘do’ or that I'd like to try something new myself?
It can be tough to talk to your partner about wanting to change the look of your personal ‘do’ or wanting them to change theirs. The key is to come at it from a place of “I” and to assure your partner that it has nothing at all to do with how much you love them and being intimate with them. It’s simply something you’d like to explore.

Here are some suggestions:
• “Honey, I would like to get a Brazilian wax. I love having sex with you and I’m curious what it would be like if you could see and feel me without distraction.”

• “Sweetheart, I was wondering if you’ve ever considered trimming, shaving or waxing your nether regions. I think it could be really sexy. And even if either or both of us don’t end up preferring it, it certainly would be a fun experiment!”

The point is to keep the conversation light and assure that it really is just about something as simple as hair and not about control or other deeper issues.

5. So, what are the options?
The sky’s the limit, my friends. Some people simply tidy things up. Others wax it bare. Some people take care of business themselves. Others go to spas or salons that will take care of the dirty work. Women sometimes leave a small patch of hair in a shape as simple as a triangle or a thin line. (The latter of which is commonly called a Brazilian). Others get various designs shaved into their pubic hair.

Believe it or not, there are even dyes made specifically for pubic hair. Do not, however, use bleach or any product designed for the hair on

Six Most Common Linkedin Mistakes

read more : networking ,linkedin , Linkedin Mistakes ,online business

LinkedIn is a professional ‘social networking site’ which enables you to connect with your co-workers, suppliers and customers. As such it can be incredibly useful as a tool if you want to get in touch with someone from your past career who might be interested in an offer you have, might have a skill you need or if you are looking for a new job or to employ someone.

However, like any forum that allows you to interact with others, certain etiquette rules apply and by ignoring them you could well damage your career or limit the benefit you can reap from LinkedIn. So what mistakes should you avoid in order to follow the proper etiquette?

1. Don't Get in Picture Trouble

Many people choose not to use a picture on their LinkedIn profiles. While some of you have your reasons, it's a mistake for the typical user, Alba says. Some common concerns: Perhaps you don't want to disclose your ethnicity, or you don't consider yourself photogenic.

"Some situations are justified in not using a profile picture, but in the end I encourage people to include one because it shows you're comfortable with yourself," Alba says. "It also makes your profile a lot more personable."

Alba recommends a professional headshot for LinkedIn, rather than the picture of you in front of a mountain or lake that you utilize on Facebook. In addition, if you're a job seeker, odds are that you will meet your prospective employer in a face-to-face interview, so that picture of you twenty years ago that you like to leave up there — that needs to be replaced.

"Sometimes people are floored when they see the person if they left a really old picture up there," Alba says.

2. Write a Descriptive Professional Headline

When you edit your LinkedIn profile, you have what Alba calls a "professional headline" right beneath the name. The common mistake here (as shown in the picture below) is to simply put your name and title. He believes you should use something catchier. Instead of saying, "project manager for X company," say something more specific: "I manage complex projects involving IT and marketing."

When people search for you, they will see this professional tagline, and it might decide whether or not they feel compelled to click on your name and see your profile, Alba says.

"Think of yourself as a marketer, and this is where your big ad appears to the world," Alba says.

3. Properly Label Websites Displaying Your Work or Blog

LinkedIn offers you the ability to list the websites where your work might be displayed. This is a great option if you keep a personal website with a resume or a blog. But when you go to edit the website descriptions, Alba recommends dispensing with LinkedIn's default descriptions of "my website" or "my company." Those descriptions aren't a compelling read for employers, he says.

Instead, when you edit your "websites" section, LinkedIn provides a drop down menu (see picture below). Click "other," and you can upload the link and describe it as you see fit. Instead of "my blog," you might write, "my blog on complex project management."

4. Consider a Vanity URL

Maybe you haven't changed the default URL that LinkedIn provides for your profile. Especially if you have a common name, this will make your name after the LinkedIn address appear with a bunch of ugly code and numbers. If you have to give your LinkedIn profile address over the phone, or you wish to print it on your business card, it should be as concise and self-explanatory as possible, Alba says.

"It literally takes 30 seconds, and it makes your profile look more on purpose," Alba says.

(When you edit your LinkedIn profile, go to the "public profile" section to create your LinkedIn URL of choice).

5. Finish with a Strong, SEO-Friendly Summary

The "summary" section of your LinkedIn profile could be the biggest missed opportunity for the majority of job seekers, Alba says. While this section has a 2,000 character limit, Alba suggests packing as much about you and your abilities into it as possible.

In reality, the ability for people to find you will depend on LinkedIn's search engine linking your name to certain search keywords. So (staying with our repeated example), a project manager might want the term "project management" to appear a few times throughout the summary.

"Most summaries are a couple sentences or a couple paragraphs, and they're missing out," Alba says. "The more you put in the summary, the better your SEO is."

6.Spam

Some people abuse their network by sending non-targeted, promotional ‘spam’ message to everyone in the network. It is important to remember that this is not a promotional tool, but a tool to communicate with specific contacts. By sending mass spam messages to your network you quickly lose trust of those who once rated you and they might even go as far as disconnecting from you.

LinkedIn is a powerful professional networking tool, but in order to get the most out of it you have to remember the audience you are presenting yourself to. People want to see other professionals who could add benefit to their work and career, but are not interested in their social activities. They are also short on time and want to know what is relevant to them – in their work setting! The biggest etiquette mistake you can make on LinkedIn is to confuse it with a standard social network site rather than a professional networking site as this means you are misrepresenting yourself and might end up ‘looking a fool’ in front of people you want to impress.

How does a "letter of credit" work?

read more : global business, B2B ,trade ,buy and sell, import  ,export, marketplace

Letter of credit is often used in International business. If you are an exporter or an importer of goods then you must know what a letter of credit is. You can easily be scammed or tricked by a person in another country, if you don't use a letter of credit.

If you have ever wondered how businesses trade internationally without getting "ripped-off", then the answer you are looking for is Letter of credit. Letter of credit is an instrument issued by a banker authorizing a person named to make drafts upon the issuer up to an amount specified (dictionary definition). In simple words, a letter of credit provides security to the seller by informing them that the buyer has enough money and is able to make a payment for the goods ordered.

The buyer and seller agree terms, including means of transport, period of credit offered, latest date of shipment and the relevant Inco-term to be used.

The buyer applies to the bank for a letter of credit to be issued. The bank will then evaluate the buyer's credit rating, and may require cash cover and/or reduction of other lending limits. The issuing bank will issue a letter of credit. This will be sent to the advising bank by airmail, telex or SWIFT. The advising bank will establish authenticity of the letter of credit using signature books or test codes, then informs seller (beneficiary). The advising bank may confirm the letter of credit, i.e. add its own payment undertaking.

The seller should check that the letter of credit matches the commercial agreement, and that the terms and conditions can be satisfied in goodtime. If there is anything that may cause a problem, an amendment should be requested. The seller ships the goods and gathers together all the documents asked for in the letter of credit including the invoice, bill of lading, insurance policy certificate, as well as the certificates of origin and quality.

Before presenting the documents to the bank, the seller should check them for discrepancies against the letter of credit, and correct the documents where necessary. The documents are presented to one of the banks, usually the advising bank. The advising bank checks the documents against the letter of credit. If the documents are compliant, the bank pays the seller and forwards the documents to the issuing bank. The issuing bank will also check the documents. If they are in order the issuing bank will reimburse the seller's bank immediately. The issuing bank debits the buyer and releases the documents (including transport document), so that the buyer can claim the goods from the carrier.

It should be noted that the letter of credit refers to documents representing the goods, and not the physical goods themselves. The banks do not examine the goods on behalf of their customers but instead only care about the documents representing the goods.

But there is no chance that any one will get scammed. This is why people use letter of credit, so they don't get scammed.

Best ways to use social networking to increase sales

read more : social networking ,increase sales ,make money ,trade ,buy and sell ,marketplace, online business

Sales are important for a business to thrive and any means to promote business must be applied according to the changes and latest trends in the world.Otherwise the business will lose out to competition. In earlier times the traditional media like newspapers and pamphlets or magazines were used for advertising, but now one must invest in the social networking sites too,  which are increasing by the day and which most of the people in the world use for getting updated about the latest news or ads.

The Internet has made life easier than ever before for people because links are provided in appropriate places and if people like some products when visiting a web page, then they can order it from their home with just a click of the mouse or from their smart phones.

The following pages will review how networking can help you increase sales, whom you should network with and where, and the importance of following up with networking prospects.

How to Network to Increase Sales: The Importance of Networking

Networking is important in sales, whether you are selling products, services, or yourself -- you as a potential consultant, partner, or someone they will refer to other potential contacts.networking should be the building of business relationships. Sales will often follow but first you have to put down the cornerstone by establishing business relationships that provide you with the opportunity to meet other people and expand your contact list.

"The component that is critical is just going out there and making yourself known," says Ellisa Brenneman, the founder of Ethos 360, a consulting business based in Portland, Oregon, that helps entrepreneurs and small businesses with a range of services, from business planning to business coaching. "It's a form of advertising like any other; that's how I approach it. You're advertising yourself as you're introducing yourself, whether it's for how you can help a business, developing sales leads, or simply networking to meet others. It's a basic form of advertising, but probably the cheapest."

The key focus of your

Even in the Internet age, that personal touch still matters. "It is a digital age and there are a lot of options to do business far from where we are located," Brenneman says. "But it may be human nature to want to see the person you're giving money to or to know there is someone who can help you -- that there is a face to the service, a face behind the voice."

How to Network to Increase Sales: Whom to Network with – and Where

The first step to networking to increase sales is to select the right group, the right people, or the right event to join or attend. You have to target your market. You want to be mingling with the people who are interested in what you bring to the table, in what you have to say.selling and what you're working for."

Determine the top 10 contacts that you want/need to meet. Before you add a networking event to your calendar, take a few minutes to consider your networking strategy, Bentley says. "Who are 10 people you really need to get to know?" he says. "Be clear as to why you want to meet them and what they can do for your business.  Most importantly, be sure that you have thought through in advance what value you can deliver to make such a connection is worthwhile for them as well."

Figure out how to meet them. Now that you have identified key contacts, set about figuring out where will you find them and have an opportunity to interact with them? "Do they frequent events and business outings to which you have access?" Bentley says. "If you don't have access, do you know others who attend these events and could sponsor your participation?" Breakfasts, lunches, cocktail hours, and even taking your pet to the dog park are all potential opportunities to get know the right people for your business.

Brenneman advises to look at the program or attendee list for conferences or trade shows and scope out who is going to be there -- which vendors, competitors, or industry gurus -- and make a mental list of to whom you should be introducing yourself. "It's something everyone should be doing -- keeping an eye out for who is there and what your target market is," she says. "They can be competitors, people with whom you could potentially have partnerships or affiliations with."

There are other ways to meet people to network with, as well. Bentley suggests creating a "Business Tree." "List your top 10 contacts across a sheet of paper, and make a list below of all the people you know," he says. "Draw lines connecting the people you know to people on your top 10 whom they know. You might be surprised at how many points of connection you already have with those you have identified as your top 10."

Prepare for meeting your top prospects. It's always important to make a good first impression, especially when networking for business. "When you have engineered an opportunity to meet one of your top prospects, don't give your normal 'elevator pitch' -- after all, who wants to be 'pitched' to?" Bentley says. "Rather, think about making a connection. What is important to them? What can you offer that will make their life better? Do your homework to learn as much as possible about this individual and his or her business and key business issues."

Have a great conversation. Make sure you've taken the time to prepare an introduction of yourself and your business and also prepared some great questions to ask before you engage your networking prospect. "Too often, we try to impress others with what we know, with what we do, and how we can solve others' problems," Bentley says. "And we do this over and over even if we come to recognize that this approach doesn't usually work very well. You want them to talk about themselves while you listen attentively, guiding the conversation by your questions, not your explanations."

You can talk about anything -- a new report about the industry, the conference, the weather. Make sure it's a professional and interesting and memorable conversation. "Just be prepared," Brenneman says. In the back of your head, you still need to "understand what you're

How to Network to Increase Sales: Follow up with Your Networking Contact

While many communication tools are great time-savers, they have resulted in business becoming more and more impersonal. "If you want prospects and others to notice you, be sure you keep the personal touch," Bentley says.

It's important to follow up on making contact with a networking prospect. Send a handwritten note. Send a card. Send an e-mail or even an invitation to become a contact through a professional online social network. "My recommendation is to strike while the iron is hot," Brenneman says. Don't let more than a week go by before following up the meeting. "Try not to call people that you met six months back who are likely to say, 'Who are you again?'"

Each business relationship needs to be judged independently as to what step you need to take next. If you discussed business during your introduction and left it that you would follow up and schedule a meeting, a call and/or follow-up e-mail are appropriate. If you send an initial e-mail or note and don't hear back, you may want to place a call or send another e-mail, perhaps with some industry news that is relevant to what you discussed. But don't persist to the point of being annoying.

"It's a relationship like any other human relationship. You want to keep contacts warm but you also don't want to irritate them," Brenneman warns.

Over time, it may be appropriate to take a moment to send a handwritten note to congratulate others on a business development or personal success or send a card to express a personal concern or to let them know that you are thinking of them. "As you look to build your networks, these personal gestures will get you noticed much more quickly than another e-mail blast or similar high-tech touch," Bentley says.

If you are going to drive higher sales growth for your business, you must make a dedicated and continuing commitment to networking. Constantly revise your top 10 list, Bentley says, adding new names as you successfully connect with those on your list. "If you stick to your game plan, your networking will become a profitable use of your time," he says, "and will help you increase sales for years to come."

Top ways to reward and motivate employees

read more : human resources , business ,reward employees

There are various ways, approaches or methods employed to reward employees by an organization or management. Rewards management are continuously changing in tandem with the business environment, development in management approach, changes in organization structure, culture and reward system.

Effective ways to reward employees include recognizing and rewarding two main types of employee activity - performance and behavior. Between the two, performance is the easiest to address because of the clear link between the initial goals that the company has set for the employees and the final output in the end. For example, you can have an incentive plan or have a scheme that will recognize your top sales people for achieving particular goals.

Here are top ways to reward and motivate employees

1. Establish an action plan. While the goals that you want to achieve may vary from one project or staffer to another, the process that you follow can be duplicated each time. Andrew Birol, president of Birol Growth Consulting in Cleveland, breaks the process down

2. Be creative in determining rewards. Before you launch the plan, decide the reward. If you've relied on bonuses or profit sharing in the past — and they work — then, by all means, continue to use them. However, Moynihan suggests keeping a notebook on your employees to distribute these cash rewards fairly.

3. Help them connect. Introducing employees to key suppliers, customers or someone in senior management can help make an employee's career, says Ventrice — and it won't cost you a thing.

4. Reward effort as well as success. Even if their ideas sometimes fail, you want employees to keep producing them, said Alan Weiss, president of the Summit Consulting Group Inc. “When I consulted with the CEO of Calgon, we created an annual award for 'the best idea that didn't work' and presented a loving cup at the annual awards dinner. This stimulated innovation and positive behavior, not 'winning.'”

5. Spread the love. Ask co-workers to write something they truly like or admire about an employee on a scrap of paper, then frame them along with a photograph of the employee, suggested David Russell, author of "Success With People – A Complete System for Effectively Managing People in Any Organization."

6. Share the memories. “My team created a scrapbook chronicling the impact I'd had on their company and gave it to me on my last day in the office,” said Lopeke. “People who’d worked on my teams wrote testimonials and creative graphics highlighting some our team successes. It's the best gift I ever received in my 40-year career.”

7. Publicize their successes. “We like to publicly recognize employees so the whole company can share in their accomplishments,” noted Scott Ragusa, president of contract businesses for staffing firm The Winter, Wyman Companies. “Each week, nominations for our quarterly 'Clutch' award are shared with the whole company. The Clutch nominations are a way to recognize our administrative and nonmanagerial professional staff members who have come through in the clutch in supporting their departments or the firm.”

While telling your employees you appreciate them should be obvious, added Amish, no one does it enough or is specific enough about what the employee did. “So when you share your appreciation, be specific about what you really liked, so they not only feel appreciated but can do it again.”

Top five kay stages of exporting

read more : trade ,buy and sell , supply, factory ,import ,export , manufacturers ,exporting ,international trade

To make the most efficient returns off of exporting goods or services requires a considerable amount of patience and forethought before pursuing. Early planning phases should follow the below mentioned criteria exactly as outlined when beginning to export goods:

Step 1: Assess Your Export Potential

Since exporting requires an extension of a firm's resources, it is important you first assess your export potential. This assessment should include a look at industry trends, the firm's domestic position in the industry, the effects exporting may have on present operations, the status of resources, and the anticipated export potential of the product.

Step 2: Get Export Counseling

Once a company has assessed its export potential and made a firm decision to commit time and resources, the next step is to get expert counseling and assistance immediately.

Step 3: Select Markets

After a firm has received expert counseling, it must select one or two "ideal" markets from the hundreds available. Language and cultural differences, special trade regulations, local competition and economic conditions, and other vital factors must be evaluated to maximize success abroad.

Step 4: Formulate an Export Strategy

The formulation of an export strategy is the next step.

In general, a successful export marketing strategy identifies and correlates at least four factors that jointly determine the most suitable kind of export operation: (1) the firm's export objectives, both immediate and long range; (2) specific tactics the firm will use; (3) scheduling of activities, deadlines, etc., that reflect chosen objectives and tactics; and (4) allocation of resources among scheduled activities.

The marketing plan and schedule of activities should cover a two-to-five-year period, depending on the kind of product exported, the strength of the competitors, conditions in the target markets, and other factors.

Step 5: Select a Selling Technique

After investigating and selecting foreign markets for your products, the fifth step in an export venture is to select a selling technique. There are two basic selling techniques in exporting: indirect and direct selling. The decision to market products directly, or alternatively, to utilize the services of an intermediary, should be made on the basis of several important factors: the size of the firm, the nature of its products, previous export experience and expertise, and business conditions in the selected overseas markets.

All stages are immensely important, and should be followed closely. This will help make any exporting experience a pleasant and risk free venture, when coupled with positive financial, political, and economic environments.

Popular payment methods in international business

read more : international business ,Exporters and importers, global business, B2B ,trade ,buy and sell, import ,export, payment methods

Exporters and importers must be very careful about agreeing the method of payment for an international transaction. Certain methods of payment methods, for example cash payment in advance, may expose the importer to excessive risk if the goods arrive too late, are damaged or are not up to standard. This would involve subsequent legal action against the exporter, the outcome of which would depend on how well the contract was drafted. The amount of risk taken on by each party and protection against problems arising during the course of the transaction are factors that must be taken into account by both parties when agreeing on the method of payment for the goods

PaymentDetailsAllocation of Risk
TT or Cash Advance T/T is the easiest payment from and is typically used when samples or small quantity shipments are transported by air. T/T is also used between buyers and sellers who have already established a mutual trust, as this negates the risks associated with this, the fastest and cheapest form of payment.

 Documents like air waybills, commercial invoices and packing lists will be sent to you along with the shipment in the same aircraft.

 As soon as the shipment arrives, you, with documentation, can clear the customs and pick up the goods. Shipping happens only after money is safely in seller's ****.

 It usually takes 3-4 days for such a wire transfer anywhere in the world.
100% buyer risk
Letter of Credit (L/C) The L/C is a guarantee, given by the buyer's bank, that they will pay for the goods exported, provided that the exporter can provide a given set of documents in accordance with clauses specified in the L/C and in a timely manner. The technical term for letter of credit is "Documentary Credit."

 Letters of credit deal in documents, not goods. Thus, the process works both in favor of both the buyer and the seller.

 Simply put, a letter of credit is a letter written by the importer's bank to the exporter. It verifies that the payment will be guaranteed when the bank is presented with concrete documents (bills of lading and freight documents).

 Most letters of credit are "irrevocable" once the importer has had them sent, which means it cannot be changed unless both the buyer and seller agree.

Escrow Escrow is a legal arrangement (and most commonly a payment arrangement) whereby money is delivered to a third party (called an escrow agent) to be held in trust (“in escrow”) pending the fulfillment of condition(s) in a contract, whereupon the escrow agent will deliver the payment to the proper recipient. Typically, escrow is used when the Buyer and Seller are unknown to each other. In an international trade context, after the Buyer and Seller have agreed to the transaction, the buyer puts the payment in escrow by paying the escrow agent, which both parties have agreed to use. The seller sends the shipment and upon acceptance by the buyer, the escrow agent releases the payment to the seller.Evenly shared

(D/P)
 The exporter ships the goods, and then gives the documents (including the bill of lading necessary to claim the goods at the foreign port) to his bank, which will forward them to a bank in the buyer's country, along with instructions on how to collect the moneyMainly with supplier
from the buyer. When the foreign bank receives the documents, they will contact the buyer and provide documents to the buyer only when the buyer pays.

Top ideas for building customer relationships

read more : customer ,building customer relationships,B2B ,trade ,buy and sell ,suppliers, wholesale

Is having a great product or service the only thing you have to do in order to be a successful business owner or salesperson? No, it is not. Although it is important to have an awesome item or service, you will not succeed if this is the only thing you do right.

If you own your own business or work in sales, you have to make a great connection with your customers. You will learn 6 ideas for building a relationship with your customers.

1) Acknowledge Brand Mentions

Facebook fanpages and Twitter profiles are very popular places for people to mention brands that they enjoy as well as ecommerce sites where they purchase products. If you are a small online company, then you should do whatever it takes to acknowledge people who give positive praise to your brand or products. If you sell dresses online and someone compliments you on Twitter about the quality of the dress, then let them know as soon as possible how much you appreciate the kind words and feedback. Showing a customer that you care and pay attention to what people think of your ecommerce site will go a long way to build loyalty and trust.

2) Keep Customers Updated and Engaged

Having a conversation with your customers on Facebook and Twitter is essential to building trust and loyalty, so that they continue to shop at your ecommerce site and recommend it to friends and family. The best way to keep the conversation going is to make sure that customers are always up to speed with everything going on at your ecommerce site. You acquire new customers almost every day, so therefore they might not be aware of your commitment to customer service. Update Facebook and Twitter on occasion asking customers if they have any questions or concerns about your store. Someone may not feel comfortable complaining about an order and just prefer to go shop elsewhere, but if you keep the communication open, then they will be more likely to let you know what they think. This feedback can go a long way toward improving your ecommerce business and building rapport with customers, which will keep them coming back to shop.

Not only do you want to keep customers updated, you want to keep them engaged with your ecommerce site. There are a variety of ways to do this via Facebook and Twitter, but the best ways are via promotions, contests and viral marketing. Get involved with your interactive advertising and try a viral video contest where customers submit ads for your ecommerce site. In terms of promotions and contests, try and rotate these throughout the year so customers have a reason to keep coming back.

3) Give Them More Than They Expect

Customers become cynical at times when they have too many disappointing experiences with businesses.  Often the advertised levels of service and value in no way resemble the goods and services that are actually received.  It does not take a lot of time, effort or money to provide a better than average experience for your customers.  Having great products and services, recruiting knowledgeable and helpful customer service staff and throwing in a bonus or two with each sale are some of the ways to give customers much more than they are used to receiving. Asking your staff for their feedback on customer wants and needs can also provide ideas for helping customers in new and continuously improving ways.

4) Give Your Customers Reason to Trust You

All relationships are based on some level of trust.  Most people would prefer to deal with a company that has a reputation for reliability.  Earning a customer’s trust is not difficult: just listen to the customer’s needs, do what you say you are going to do and be available and interested whenever they have a problem.  Trust and loyalty naturally follow when customers continue to have good experiences when dealing with a particular business.

5) Know What the Customer Wants Before They Do

Keeping abreast with all new developments in your industry and knowing your customers enables you to easily match their needs with any new products and services that emerge which may be relevant to them.  As Zig Ziglar once said: "You can get anything in life you want if you help enough people get what they want."  So help your customers to get what they want, even before they know it is available.  You then become a partner in their life or business in the sense that you have created a “team” environment by being interested and involved in their success.

6) Share Positive Feedback and Testimonials

Sharing real testimonials is a great way to build trust and loyalty among customers via Twitter and Facebook. It is best to have a section on your ecommerce site dedicated to customer testimonials, and then you can direct people to them via Facebook and Twitter. Not only is it a great way to drive traffic to your site, but will increase confidence so that customers come back to purchase more often. You can also use Twitter and Facebook to solicit testimonials, by asking what the experience was like for customers of your ecommerce site. Testimonials do not have to all look the same, you may get video from a customer who loved shopping at your site or an actual written letter you can scan and put on the site. A unique and frequently updated section for testimonials is a smart way to stand out among your competition, and help further customer trust and loyalty.

Building relationships with customers can only benefit a business in the good times and the bad.  Everyone wants to deal with people that they like and respect.  It therefore makes a lot of sense for a business to develop positive relationships with its customers in order to be able to understand and service their needs in the best possible way.

Key to a Happy Family Is 2 Daughters, Study Finds

It turns out the formula for a happy family is not the one boy and one girl combination that many couples strive for. It’s actually families with two girls that are the most harmonious, according to a study of more than 2,000 families.

With two daughters, the siblings tended to be easier to reason with, help out more around the house and actually like each other.

After two girls, one boy and one girl was rated the next best combination, followed by two boys, the study by a British parenting website Bounty.com found.

But beware, there can too much of a good thing when it comes to daughters.

Families with four girls were the least happy with family life overall.

Parents in this category reported drawbacks including squabbles and having to buy a bigger house and car.

"The findings were absolutely fascinating – we often assume little girls behave like angels, and if you have two this certainly seems to be the case.” Bounty.com spokeswoman Faye Mingo said. "But the more girls you have the more of a handful they become - more so in fact than boys."

'BEST' TO 'WORST' COMBINATIONS OF CHILDREN:

1. Two girls
2. One boy and one girl
3. Two boys
4. Three girls
5. Three boys
6. Four boys
7. Two girls and one boy

Top Characteristics and Marketing of Buyers and Consumers

read more : find customer , business ,product, business market, purchase ,marketplace ,suppliers, wholesale

Marketing strategies often develop around understanding how consumers think, reason, feel, and make selections. For example, does environment, culture, or society influence the buyer’s decision? Does emotion, product knowledge or money, influence the major decisions? Identifying some common characteristics in buyer potential help marketers improve marketing strategies and campaigns to reach consumers more effectively. Several common characteristics commonly found among buyers include the following definitions:

The different types of buyers and consumers are combined within several major categories, the consumer market and the business market. Amid these two major categories, the consumer/buyer market is comprised of individuals and households that purchase “goods and services for personal consumption,” whereas the business market encompasses organizational entities that purchase goods and services for the “use in the production of other products and services or for the purpose of reselling or renting them to others at a profit.”

Business markets possess a smaller amount of large buyers, unlike the consumer market, and whose consuming traits are “more geographically concentrated.” Dependent on the type of buyer and consumer, characteristics through decision processes may differ. For instance, the consumer market’s behavior is “influenced by four key sets of buyer characteristics: cultural, social, personal and psychological.” Culture, is defined by social class and group wants and behaviors; social, incorporates the factors of influences by family and small groups that determine ideal brands and products; personal adopts the different age groups and lifestyles, and psychological, utilizes motivators and perception of “beliefs and attitudes.” Additionaly, the business market’s behavior is influenced by a buying center that displays “three types of buying situations: straight rebuys, modified rebuys, and new tasks.”

Know the type of Buyer or Consumer, and how they impact a marketing strategy. How to ensure a market strategy’s effectiveness toward the target market.

Buyers ranging from individual consumers to organization consumers are distinct from one another based on consuming behavior. Such behaviors can vary from the different influences, and comprehending the consumers’ purchasing
characteristics or market segmentation, can identify the plethora of strategic marketing tools to implement. Due to the amount of time and costs that research requires to isolate and locate their consumers or business market, an organization can ensure their marketing strategy is appropriate by practicing target marketing or questioning center participants, center participants’ influence, environments, organizations, and interpersonal characteristics. Concisely, target marketing defines the relationship between a consumer and product based on market segmentation, which is the dividing of the buyers market into categorical segments, such as needs or characteristics; then the process of evaluating segments based on attractiveness, which in turn, subsequently determines the appropriate position to competitively perform for the benefit of the target consumer. All of these strategies are interpreted as a basis for marketing research and as stated in my previous response, can determine the appropriate strategic plan and collective budget.

The consumer market can vary significantly based several factors including need, personality, culture, and lifestyle.
