We’re highlighting small businesses from around the country as nominated by you, our readers. If your favorite small business is using Twitter to communicate with customers, let us know about it @fbsmallbiz with the hashtag #mysbc, and it may be featured as an upcoming Small Business of the Day.

Small Business of the day: Empower Me!

Who: Adrienne Graham, 42, @talentdiva

What: A media, publishing and educational development company

When: 2002

How: Graham, who previously worked in recruiting, decided to start a network for women entrepreneurs after a stint in the hospital in 1998. She said she found herself unable to work, and surprised at the lack of resources for those like herself.

"In 2002, I decided to make the [network] a source of education as well," Graham said. "But in 2008, it became a full-blown media, education and publishing company. It's no longer just focused on women, but anyone who wants to grow their business or career in this economy."

Where: Atlanta, Ga.

Biggest lesson learned from a customer: "To not be afraid to step out of the safe zone and grow," she said. "I was more concerned with what people expected me to be. As time went on I saw the bigger picture, and had to adjust and shift my business to keep meeting those goals and move onto the next level."
